This Seller Legal Notice provides important legal and business information for individuals, businesses, merchants, manufacturers, suppliers, brands, and other entities selling products or services through the Alkonect marketplace.

Alkonect is a global multivendor e-commerce marketplace operated by Alkonect Ltd, with operations and/or registration in Nigeria and South Korea.

Our mission is to make local and international commerce simpler, more accessible, and more connected by providing a digital marketplace where businesses can reach customers, showcase their products, and participate in cross-border trade.


1. ALKONECT'S ROLE

Alkonect operates a technology-enabled marketplace that connects independent Sellers with Buyers.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Alkonect is not the manufacturer, importer, owner, distributor, or direct seller of Products listed by independent Sellers.

Each Seller remains responsible for:

  • the Products it lists;
  • the accuracy of its Product information;
  • pricing;
  • inventory;
  • fulfilment;
  • shipping;
  • warranties;
  • returns and refunds;
  • customer service;
  • applicable taxes;
  • licences and permits;
  • product safety;
  • intellectual-property rights; and
  • compliance with applicable laws.

Alkonect provides marketplace infrastructure and related services to facilitate transactions between Sellers and Buyers.


2. SELLER IDENTITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

Every Seller using Alkonect is expected to provide accurate and verifiable information.

Depending on the Seller and applicable requirements, Alkonect may collect and verify:

  • legal name;
  • business name;
  • business registration information;
  • identification information;
  • business address;
  • telephone number;
  • email address;
  • tax information;
  • payment and banking information;
  • licences and permits; and
  • other information reasonably required for verification and compliance.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied to Alkonect remains accurate and up to date.


3. SELLER COMPLIANCE

Sellers must comply with all laws and regulations applicable to their business, Products, and transactions.

Depending on the Seller and transaction, this may include requirements relating to:

  • consumer protection;
  • e-commerce;
  • product safety;
  • taxation;
  • intellectual property;
  • advertising;
  • data protection;
  • customs;
  • import and export;
  • product labelling;
  • business registration;
  • warranties; and
  • industry-specific licensing.

Operating a Seller account on Alkonect does not relieve a Seller of its legal responsibilities.


4. PRODUCT INFORMATION

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that Product listings are accurate, complete, current, and not misleading.

Product listings should accurately describe, where applicable:

  • Product name;
  • specifications;
  • condition;
  • size;
  • colour;
  • quantity;
  • price;
  • availability;
  • warranty;
  • delivery information;
  • return conditions; and
  • other material information relevant to the purchase.

Sellers must not knowingly provide false, deceptive, or materially incomplete Product information.


5. AUTHENTICITY AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Sellers may only list Products that they are legally authorised to sell.

Sellers must not list or sell counterfeit, stolen, unlawfully sourced, or infringing Products.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that all photographs, videos, trademarks, logos, descriptions, designs, and other materials used in their listings are legally authorised.

Alkonect may remove listings or restrict Seller accounts where there are credible concerns regarding authenticity or intellectual-property infringement.


6. PROHIBITED PRODUCTS

Sellers must not use Alkonect to sell Products that are illegal, prohibited, unsafe, fraudulent, counterfeit, or otherwise restricted under applicable law or Alkonect marketplace policies.

Prohibited or restricted Products may include, without limitation:

  • illegal drugs;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • stolen goods;
  • unlawful weapons;
  • explosives;
  • hazardous materials;
  • fraudulent financial products;
  • Products infringing intellectual-property rights;
  • illegally sourced protected materials;
  • Products requiring licences where the Seller does not hold the necessary licence;
  • unsafe or recalled Products; and
  • Products prohibited by applicable customs or import regulations.

Alkonect may remove prohibited listings without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect Buyers, Sellers, Alkonect, or comply with applicable law.


7. SELLER FEES AND PAYOUTS

Sellers may be subject to marketplace commissions, transaction fees, payment-processing charges, advertising fees, subscription charges, logistics fees, or other applicable charges.

The applicable fee structure will be communicated through the Seller dashboard, Seller Agreement, pricing information, or other official Alkonect communication.

Seller payouts may be subject to deductions, adjustments, refunds, chargebacks, disputes, payment-processing costs, taxes, or other amounts permitted under the applicable Seller terms.

Payouts may also be temporarily delayed or placed on hold where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, disputes, chargebacks, regulatory requirements, or other legitimate risks.


8. BUYER PROTECTION AND RETURNS

Sellers are required to comply with the Alkonect Returns & Refund Policy and all mandatory consumer rights applicable to their transactions.

Depending on the circumstances, Buyers may be entitled to a:

  • return;
  • refund;
  • replacement;
  • repair;
  • exchange; or
  • other legally required remedy.

Sellers must not create or enforce return conditions that unlawfully remove mandatory consumer rights.


9. SHIPPING AND FULFILMENT

Sellers are responsible for fulfilling accepted Orders in accordance with their stated processing and delivery commitments.

Sellers must:

  • prepare the correct Product;
  • package Products appropriately;
  • provide accurate shipping information;
  • dispatch Orders within the stated timeframe;
  • provide tracking information where available; and
  • cooperate with delivery investigations.

For international transactions, Sellers are responsible for complying with applicable export, customs, import, tax, and Product restrictions.


10. CUSTOMER DATA AND PRIVACY

Sellers may receive limited Buyer information necessary to fulfil Orders and provide related services.

Sellers must use Buyer information only for legitimate purposes and must comply with applicable data-protection and privacy laws.

Sellers must not:

  • sell Buyer information;
  • use Buyer information for unauthorised marketing;
  • disclose Buyer information to unauthorised parties;
  • misuse personal information; or
  • retain personal information longer than legally or operationally necessary.

Any suspected data breach involving Buyer information should be reported to Alkonect promptly.


11. SELLER COMMUNICATIONS

Sellers must communicate with Buyers professionally and respectfully.

Sellers must not use Alkonect to:

  • harass or threaten Buyers;
  • distribute spam;
  • make deceptive claims;
  • solicit unauthorised payments;
  • redirect transactions outside Alkonect to circumvent marketplace fees or controls; or
  • misuse Buyer contact information.

12. SELLER PERFORMANCE

Alkonect may monitor Seller performance to maintain a reliable and trusted marketplace.

Performance indicators may include:

  • fulfilment rate;
  • cancellation rate;
  • delivery performance;
  • response time;
  • return rate;
  • refund rate;
  • complaint rate;
  • Product quality;
  • customer reviews;
  • counterfeit reports; and
  • compliance with marketplace policies.

Where appropriate, Alkonect may provide Sellers with warnings, guidance, or opportunities to correct performance issues.


13. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION

Alkonect may suspend, restrict, or terminate a Seller account where permitted by applicable law and contractual terms.

Reasons may include:

  • fraud;
  • counterfeit Products;
  • prohibited Products;
  • repeated customer complaints;
  • serious or repeated policy violations;
  • intellectual-property infringement;
  • misuse of Buyer information;
  • repeated Order fulfilment failures;
  • payment abuse;
  • deceptive conduct;
  • regulatory requirements; or
  • conduct that presents a significant risk to Buyers, Sellers, or Alkonect.

Where appropriate, Sellers may request a review or appeal through:

support@alkonect.com


14. ALKONECT'S RIGHT TO INVESTIGATE

Alkonect may investigate Seller activity where reasonably necessary to:

  • protect Buyers;
  • protect Sellers;
  • prevent fraud;
  • investigate complaints;
  • verify Product authenticity;
  • investigate safety concerns;
  • enforce marketplace policies;
  • comply with legal requirements; or
  • maintain marketplace integrity.

Sellers agree to cooperate reasonably with legitimate investigations.


15. CROSS-BORDER COMMERCE

Alkonect facilitates commerce across markets and may connect Sellers and Buyers located in different countries.

Cross-border transactions may be subject to:

  • customs requirements;
  • import and export regulations;
  • taxes and duties;
  • foreign-exchange requirements;
  • Product restrictions;
  • consumer-protection laws;
  • sanctions; and
  • other applicable legal requirements.

Sellers are responsible for determining whether they can legally sell and ship a particular Product to a particular destination.


16. GOVERNING TERMS

Seller participation on Alkonect is governed by the applicable Alkonect legal and marketplace documents, including:

  • Seller Policy
  • Terms & Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • Returns & Refund Policy
  • Support Policy
  • Shipping Policy
  • Seller Agreement, where applicable
  • applicable fee and payout terms
  • applicable marketplace rules

In the event of a conflict, mandatory applicable law will prevail.
