Seller Right of Withdrawal

Last Updated: August 31, 2026
Effective Date: August 31, 2026

This Seller Right of Withdrawal Policy ("Withdrawal Policy") explains the circumstances under which a Seller may withdraw from, suspend, or terminate its participation in the Alkonect marketplace and the obligations that may continue after withdrawal.

Alkonect is a multivendor e-commerce marketplace operated by Alkonect Ltd, with operations and/or registration in Nigeria and South Korea.

This Policy applies to Sellers using Alkonect as a marketplace platform and should be read together with the Alkonect Seller Policy, Terms & Conditions, Seller Agreement, Returns & Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, Support Policy, and other applicable marketplace policies.

Nothing in this Policy limits any mandatory right available to a Seller under applicable law.

1. MEANING OF WITHDRAWAL

For purposes of this Policy, "withdrawal" generally means a Seller's decision to stop participating in the Alkonect marketplace, close its Seller account, or discontinue its Seller activities.

Withdrawal from Alkonect is different from a Buyer's statutory right to cancel or withdraw from a consumer transaction.

A Seller withdrawing from the marketplace remains responsible for Orders, refunds, returns, warranties, disputes, payments, taxes, and other obligations arising before the effective withdrawal date.

2. VOLUNTARY SELLER WITHDRAWAL

A Seller may generally request to close or withdraw its Seller account by contacting:

support@alkonect.com

The Seller should provide:

  • Seller account name;
  • registered email address;
  • reason for withdrawal, where applicable;
  • preferred withdrawal date; and
  • any other information reasonably required to verify the request.

Alkonect may require account verification before processing a withdrawal request.

3. WITHDRAWAL THROUGH THE SELLER DASHBOARD

Where an account-closure or withdrawal feature is available through the Seller dashboard, Sellers may submit their request directly through the applicable account settings.

The Seller may be required to:

  1. confirm its intention to withdraw;
  2. resolve outstanding Orders;
  3. address pending returns and refunds;
  4. settle outstanding fees;
  5. provide or confirm payout information; and
  6. complete any required verification.

Availability of an automated withdrawal feature does not remove any obligations that survive account closure.

4. EFFECTIVE DATE OF WITHDRAWAL

A withdrawal request does not necessarily result in immediate account closure.

Alkonect may require a reasonable period to:

  • complete pending transactions;
  • process refunds;
  • resolve disputes;
  • complete payment reconciliation;
  • settle outstanding fees;
  • investigate suspicious activity;
  • complete legal or regulatory requirements; or
  • protect Buyers and Sellers.

The Seller will generally be notified when the account has been closed or when the withdrawal becomes effective.

5. NEW ORDERS AFTER WITHDRAWAL REQUEST

Once a Seller has submitted a withdrawal request, Alkonect may restrict or disable the Seller's ability to accept new Orders.

Where an Order has already been accepted before the withdrawal request, the Seller may remain responsible for fulfilling that Order unless Alkonect determines otherwise.

A Seller must not intentionally abandon accepted Orders because it has requested withdrawal.

6. PENDING ORDERS

Before withdrawal is completed, Sellers should fulfil all accepted Orders unless:

  • the Buyer cancels the Order;
  • Alkonect cancels the Order;
  • fulfilment is impossible;
  • applicable law requires cancellation; or
  • Alkonect otherwise authorises cancellation.

Failure to fulfil pending Orders may result in:

  • refunds to Buyers;
  • cancellation of transactions;
  • deductions from Seller funds;
  • account restrictions; or
  • other appropriate action.

7. PENDING RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Withdrawal does not eliminate a Seller's responsibility for eligible returns or refunds relating to Products sold before withdrawal.

Sellers may remain responsible for:

  • defective Products;
  • damaged Products;
  • incorrect Products;
  • materially misrepresented Products;
  • eligible returns;
  • approved refunds;
  • warranty obligations; and
  • other consumer remedies required by applicable law.

Alkonect may retain or deduct sufficient funds, where legally and contractually permitted, to address unresolved obligations.

8. OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS AND PAYOUTS

Before final closure, Alkonect may reconcile:

  • Seller earnings;
  • commissions;
  • transaction fees;
  • refunds;
  • chargebacks;
  • payment-processing charges;
  • advertising fees;
  • logistics charges;
  • taxes or legally required deductions; and
  • other outstanding amounts.

Any remaining balance owed to the Seller may be paid through the applicable payout method, subject to verification and applicable legal or contractual requirements.

9. NEGATIVE BALANCES

If a Seller owes money to Alkonect because of:

  • refunds;
  • chargebacks;
  • fee adjustments;
  • disputed transactions;
  • fraudulent activity;
  • overpayments; or
  • other legitimate adjustments,

the Seller remains responsible for the outstanding balance after withdrawal.

Closing a Seller account does not automatically cancel financial obligations that arose while the account was active.

10. SELLER'S RIGHT TO DISCONTINUE INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTS

A Seller may generally discontinue a Product listing at any time, subject to:

  • existing Orders;
  • applicable law;
  • return and warranty obligations;
  • promotional commitments;
  • outstanding disputes; and
  • other contractual obligations.

Removing a Product listing does not automatically cancel an accepted Order.

11. SELLER'S RIGHT TO PAUSE SELLING

Where available, Sellers may request to temporarily suspend their selling activities rather than permanently close their accounts.

A temporary pause may be appropriate where the Seller:

  • is temporarily out of stock;
  • is unable to fulfil Orders;
  • is undergoing business restructuring;
  • is taking a holiday;
  • is changing logistics arrangements; or
  • temporarily cannot provide customer service.

Alkonect may approve, deny, or modify a temporary selling suspension depending on operational and marketplace requirements.

12. WITHDRAWAL FOR BUSINESS RESTRUCTURING

Where a Seller changes:

  • legal entity;
  • ownership;
  • business name;
  • bank account;
  • country of operation;
  • tax registration; or
  • other material business information,

the Seller should notify Alkonect before continuing to operate where the change may affect account verification or legal compliance.

Alkonect may require the Seller to complete a new verification process.

A Seller should not transfer its account to another person or business without Alkonect's approval.

13. ACCOUNT TRANSFER

Seller accounts are generally personal to the verified Seller or business entity.

A Seller must not sell, transfer, assign, or otherwise hand over its Alkonect Seller account to another person or entity without prior approval from Alkonect.

Where ownership or legal-entity changes occur, Alkonect may require:

  • identity verification;
  • business documentation;
  • ownership information;
  • tax documentation;
  • banking information; and
  • other compliance information.

14. WITHDRAWAL FOLLOWING POLICY VIOLATION

A Seller may request voluntary withdrawal even where its account is subject to:

  • warnings;
  • investigations;
  • disputes;
  • payment holds;
  • Product complaints;
  • policy violations; or
  • other enforcement actions.

However, withdrawal does not prevent Alkonect from completing an investigation or taking appropriate action regarding conduct that occurred before withdrawal.

15. SUSPENDED SELLER ACCOUNTS

Where an account has been suspended, the Seller's request to withdraw may not immediately terminate the suspension or investigation.

Alkonect may continue to:

  • investigate the matter;
  • process refunds;
  • resolve disputes;
  • protect Buyers;
  • comply with legal requirements; and
  • reconcile financial obligations.

16. SELLER WITHDRAWAL AND BUYER RIGHTS

Seller withdrawal does not remove or reduce the rights of Buyers who purchased Products before the Seller's withdrawal.

Buyers may continue to have rights relating to:

  • returns;
  • refunds;
  • defective Products;
  • warranties;
  • cancellations;
  • non-delivery;
  • incorrect Products;
  • consumer protection; and
  • other applicable remedies.

Where a Seller is no longer actively operating on Alkonect, Alkonect may assist affected Buyers in accordance with its marketplace policies and applicable law.

17. SELLER WARRANTIES AFTER WITHDRAWAL

Where a Seller has provided a warranty or guarantee that extends beyond the date of withdrawal, the Seller remains responsible for that warranty or guarantee unless applicable law or the relevant warranty terms provide otherwise.

A Seller must not use account closure to unlawfully avoid an existing warranty obligation.

18. DATA AND RECORD RETENTION

After withdrawal, Alkonect may retain certain Seller information and transaction records where necessary for:

  • legal compliance;
  • accounting;
  • taxation;
  • fraud prevention;
  • dispute resolution;
  • transaction records;
  • security;
  • enforcement of agreements; or
  • other legitimate purposes.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Alkonect Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection laws.

19. SELLER CONTENT AFTER WITHDRAWAL

Following withdrawal, Alkonect may remove active Product listings and Seller storefront content.

However, Alkonect may retain or display certain information where reasonably necessary to:

  • maintain transaction records;
  • provide Buyers with historical Order information;
  • resolve disputes;
  • comply with legal requirements;
  • prevent fraud;
  • maintain reviews and transaction history; or
  • protect the integrity of the marketplace.

20. REVIEWS AFTER WITHDRAWAL

Reviews relating to completed transactions may remain part of Alkonect's historical marketplace records after a Seller withdraws.

Withdrawal does not automatically remove legitimate Buyer reviews.

Alkonect may remove or modify reviews only where permitted under its review policies, applicable law, or other legitimate circumstances.

21. TAX AND REGULATORY OBLIGATIONS

Withdrawal from Alkonect does not automatically terminate a Seller's tax, accounting, reporting, customs, licensing, or other regulatory obligations.

Sellers remain responsible for fulfilling obligations arising from their business activities.

Sellers should obtain appropriate professional advice regarding their tax and regulatory responsibilities.

22. INTERNATIONAL SELLERS

For cross-border Sellers, withdrawal does not automatically eliminate obligations arising from international transactions.

A Seller may continue to have responsibilities relating to:

  • customs;
  • import and export;
  • taxes;
  • refunds;
  • warranties;
  • consumer rights;
  • data protection;
  • product safety; and
  • other applicable laws.

23. ALKONECT'S RIGHT TO CLOSE AN ACCOUNT

Alkonect may close or terminate a Seller account in accordance with applicable law and the applicable Seller agreement.

Reasons may include:

  • serious or repeated policy violations;
  • fraud;
  • counterfeit Products;
  • illegal activity;
  • misuse of Buyer information;
  • prolonged inactivity;
  • security concerns;
  • regulatory requirements;
  • repeated failure to fulfil Orders; or
  • other legitimate business or legal reasons.

Where required, Alkonect will provide appropriate notice.

24. EFFECT OF ACCOUNT CLOSURE

Once withdrawal becomes effective, the Seller may lose access to certain Seller features, including:

  • listing Products;
  • accepting new Orders;
  • Seller dashboard functions;
  • promotional tools;
  • Seller advertising;
  • certain analytics; and
  • other marketplace features.

Access to historical transaction information may remain available where necessary or legally required.

25. REJOINING ALKONECT

A Seller that has voluntarily withdrawn may apply to become a Seller again in the future.

Alkonect may require:

  • a new application;
  • identity verification;
  • business verification;
  • updated documentation;
  • payment verification; and
  • compliance checks.

A Seller whose account was previously terminated for serious violations may not automatically be eligible to return.

26. NO WAIVER OF OBLIGATIONS

Withdrawal does not waive obligations that arose before the effective withdrawal date.

These may include:

  • payment obligations;
  • refunds;
  • returns;
  • warranties;
  • indemnification obligations;
  • confidentiality obligations;
  • data-protection obligations;
  • intellectual-property obligations;
  • tax obligations;
  • dispute resolution; and
  • other provisions intended to survive termination.
