Seller Policy

Last Updated: August 31, 2026
Effective Date: August 31, 2026

This Seller Policy ("Policy") establishes the rules, standards, responsibilities, and requirements applicable to all sellers, vendors, merchants, businesses, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers ("Seller", "you", or "your") who operate on the Alkonect marketplace.

Alkonect is a multivendor e-commerce marketplace operated by Alkonect Ltd, with operations and/or registration in Nigeria and South Korea.

By registering as a Seller, listing Products, accepting Orders, or otherwise using Alkonect's Seller services, you agree to comply with this Seller Policy, the Alkonect Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Returns & Refund Policy, Support Policy, Shipping Policy, and all other applicable marketplace rules.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove or restrict any mandatory legal obligation or consumer right.

1. SELLER ELIGIBILITY

To sell on Alkonect, you must:

Alkonect may restrict certain Seller categories, Products, countries, or business models based on legal, regulatory, operational, or risk considerations.

2. SELLER REGISTRATION AND VERIFICATION

Alkonect may require Sellers to complete verification before they can list or sell Products.

Depending on the Seller and jurisdiction, we may request:

Alkonect may use authorised third-party service providers to conduct identity, business, payment, fraud, sanctions, or compliance checks.

Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information may result in rejection, suspension, or termination of the Seller account.

3. SELLER ACCOUNT

Each Seller is responsible for maintaining the security of its account.

Sellers must:

  • keep login credentials confidential;
  • use strong authentication where available;
  • maintain accurate account information;
  • promptly report suspected unauthorised access;
  • not share accounts without Alkonect's permission; and
  • ensure that employees or representatives using the account are authorised.

Sellers are responsible for activity conducted through their account, subject to applicable law.

4. BUSINESS INFORMATION

  • business names;
  • addresses;
  • contact information;
  • registration information;
  • tax information;
  • banking information;
  • licences;
  • certifications; and
  • other required business information.

Changes should be updated through the Seller dashboard or reported to Alkonect where necessary.

5. PRODUCT LISTINGS

Sellers are responsible for all Products they list.

Every Product listing must be:

  • accurate;
  • complete;
  • truthful;
  • current;
  • understandable;
  • legally compliant; and
  • consistent with the actual Product being offered.

Listings should include relevant information such as:

  • Product name;

  • other information required by applicable law or Alkonect.

Sellers must not intentionally omit material information that would affect a Buyer's purchasing decision.

6. PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEDIA

Sellers must use photographs and media that accurately represent their Products.

Images must not:

  • materially misrepresent the Product;
  • contain unauthorised third-party trademarks;
  • infringe copyright;
  • contain misleading claims;
  • contain prohibited content; or
  • be used to deceive Buyers.

Where stock images are used, the Seller should ensure that they accurately represent the actual Product.

7. PRODUCT AUTHENTICITY

Sellers must sell only authentic and legally sourced Products.

Sellers must not list:

  • counterfeit Products;
  • unauthorised replicas;
  • stolen goods;
  • illegally imported Products;
  • Products with falsified documentation;
  • Products bearing another party's trademark without authorisation; or
  • Products that infringe third-party intellectual-property rights.

Alkonect may request proof of authenticity, invoices, purchase records, distribution agreements, certificates, or other documentation.

8. PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED PRODUCTS

Sellers must not list Products prohibited by law or Alkonect policy.

Prohibited or restricted categories may include:

  • illegal drugs;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • stolen goods;
  • unlawful weapons;

  • other Products designated by Alkonect as prohibited or restricted.

Alkonect may maintain additional prohibited-product lists and update them when necessary.

9. LEGAL COMPLIANCE

Sellers are solely responsible for complying with laws applicable to their business and Products.

Depending on the Seller and transaction, this may include laws relating to:

  • consumer protection;
  • product safety;
  • e-commerce;
  • taxation;
  • customs;
  • intellectual property;
  • advertising;
  • data protection;
  • import and export;
  • employment;
  • business registration;

Operating on Alkonect does not relieve a Seller of its legal responsibilities.

10. PRICING

Sellers must provide accurate and lawful prices.

Sellers must not:

  • intentionally manipulate prices;
  • advertise a false discount;
  • create fake reference prices;
  • misrepresent taxes or charges;
  • use deceptive pricing practices; or
  • change the price of an accepted Order without lawful justification.

The final amount payable by the Buyer should be clearly presented before checkout, subject to applicable taxes, shipping costs, customs charges, and other properly disclosed charges.

11. INVENTORY AND AVAILABILITY

Sellers must maintain accurate inventory information.

Sellers should not accept Orders for Products they cannot reasonably fulfil.

If a Product becomes unavailable after an Order is placed, the Seller must promptly notify Alkonect and take appropriate action.

Repeated cancellations caused by inaccurate inventory may negatively affect Seller performance and may result in account restrictions.

12. ORDER ACCEPTANCE

By accepting an Order, the Seller agrees to fulfil it in accordance with the Order details and applicable marketplace requirements.

Sellers must not cancel Orders without a legitimate reason.

Repeated cancellations may result in:

  • warnings;
  • reduced marketplace visibility;
  • temporary restrictions;
  • payout restrictions;
  • suspension; or
  • termination.

Mandatory legal cancellation rights and legitimate circumstances are not affected.

14. PACKAGING

Products must be packaged appropriately for transportation.

Sellers are responsible for taking reasonable measures to prevent:

  • damage;
  • leakage;
  • breakage;
  • contamination;
  • loss of components; and
  • other avoidable transportation problems.

Certain Products may require specialised packaging under applicable law or carrier requirements.

15. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Sellers must provide accurate shipping information.

Where the Seller is responsible for fulfilment, the Seller must:

  • dispatch Orders within the stated timeframe;
  • use appropriate delivery services;
  • provide accurate tracking information where available;
  • respond to delivery-related requests;
  • cooperate with investigations; and
  • comply with applicable shipping and customs requirements.

Sellers must not falsely mark an Order as shipped or delivered.

16. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Sellers participating in international commerce must comply with applicable:

  • export requirements;
  • import requirements;
  • customs rules;
  • tax requirements;
  • sanctions;
  • product restrictions;
  • labelling requirements;
  • shipping requirements; and
  • destination-country laws.

A Seller must not ship a Product internationally if doing so would violate applicable law.

17. TAXES

Sellers are responsible for understanding and complying with applicable tax obligations relating to their business and transactions.

Depending on the transaction, this may include:

  • VAT;
  • sales taxes;
  • income taxes;
  • withholding taxes;
  • customs duties;
  • import taxes; and
  • other applicable government charges.

Alkonect may collect, report, or withhold amounts where required by law or agreement.

Sellers should obtain independent professional tax advice where necessary.

18. SELLER FEES AND COMMISSIONS

Alkonect may charge Sellers fees for using marketplace services.

  • other permitted adjustments.

Payout timing may vary depending on the Seller, transaction type, payment provider, delivery confirmation, return period, and risk controls.

20. PAYMENT HOLDS AND RESERVES

Alkonect may temporarily delay, hold, or reserve Seller funds where reasonably necessary to:

  • investigate suspected fraud;
  • address chargebacks;
  • manage unresolved disputes;
  • process refunds;
  • comply with legal requirements;
  • protect Buyers;
  • protect Alkonect; or
  • address suspected violations of this Policy.

Any such action will be taken in accordance with applicable law and contractual obligations.

21. RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Sellers must comply with the Alkonect Returns & Refund Policy and applicable law.

Sellers must not unlawfully refuse a legitimate return, refund, replacement, repair, or other remedy.

Sellers are responsible for resolving Product-related return issues where the Seller or Product is responsible.

This may include Products that are:

  • defective;
  • damaged;
  • incorrect;
  • counterfeit;
  • materially different from the listing; or
  • otherwise subject to a legal or contractual remedy.

22. WARRANTIES AND GUARANTEES

Sellers must honour all warranties and guarantees they provide.

Sellers must not make false or misleading warranty claims.

Where a Product is subject to a manufacturer warranty or statutory guarantee, the Seller must provide accurate information regarding the applicable warranty.

Nothing in a Seller policy may unlawfully exclude mandatory statutory rights.

23. CUSTOMER SERVICE

Sellers are expected to provide reasonable customer service for their Products.

Sellers should:

  • respond to Buyer enquiries;
  • respond to complaints;

Sellers must not harass, threaten, discriminate against, or abuse Buyers.

24. COMMUNICATION WITH BUYERS

Seller-Buyer communication must remain professional and transaction-related.

Sellers must not use Buyer information obtained through Alkonect to:

  • send unauthorised marketing;
  • sell personal information;
  • solicit unrelated business;
  • engage in spam;
  • harass Buyers; or
  • redirect transactions outside Alkonect for the purpose of avoiding marketplace fees or controls.

25. BUYER PERSONAL INFORMATION

Sellers may receive personal information necessary to fulfil Orders.

Sellers must:

  • protect Buyer information;
  • use it only for legitimate purposes;
  • comply with applicable data-protection laws;
  • not sell or misuse the information;
  • not disclose it to unauthorised parties;
  • maintain reasonable security measures; and
  • delete or retain information as required by applicable law.

Sellers must promptly notify Alkonect of any suspected personal-data breach involving Buyer information where required.

26. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Sellers must respect all intellectual-property rights.

Sellers must have the necessary rights or licences to use:

  • trademarks;
  • photographs;
  • videos;
  • product descriptions;
  • logos;
  • designs;
  • software;
  • music;
  • written content; and
  • other intellectual property

included in their listings.

Alkonect may remove content that allegedly infringes third-party rights.

27. SELLER CONTENT LICENCE

By submitting Product listings, photographs, descriptions, videos, trademarks, logos, and other materials to Alkonect, the Seller grants Alkonect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt, and publish that content as reasonably necessary to:

  • operate the marketplace;
  • display Products;
  • process Orders;
  • advertise the Seller or Products;
  • improve Platform functionality;
  • provide customer support; and
  • promote Alkonect.

The Seller retains ownership of its intellectual property.

28. REVIEWS AND RATINGS

Sellers must not manipulate reviews or ratings.

Sellers must not:

  • create fake reviews;
  • purchase fake reviews;
  • threaten Buyers into changing reviews;
  • offer unauthorised incentives for positive reviews;
  • submit reviews on behalf of Buyers;
  • manipulate ratings; or
  • suppress legitimate negative feedback through deceptive means.

Sellers may respond professionally to legitimate reviews.

29. ADVERTISING AND PROMOTIONS

Sellers participating in Alkonect promotions must provide accurate promotional information.

Sellers must not:

  • make false claims;
  • advertise unavailable Products;
  • create misleading discounts;
  • use deceptive urgency;
  • make unsupported health or performance claims;
  • infringe another party's trademarks; or
  • otherwise violate advertising laws.

Alkonect may review or remove promotional content that violates Platform standards or applicable law.

30. SELLER PERFORMANCE

Alkonect may monitor Seller performance using indicators such as:

  • complaint rate;
  • Product quality;

  • other legitimate marketplace indicators.

Performance information may be used to improve marketplace quality and determine eligibility for certain Seller programmes.

31. SELLER PERFORMANCE ACTIONS

Where performance falls below applicable marketplace standards, Alkonect may take proportionate action, including:

  • notifying the Seller;

  • requiring corrective action;
  • limiting listings;
  • reducing marketplace visibility;

  • false documentation;
  • duplicate accounts used to circumvent restrictions; or
  • collusion with Buyers or other Sellers.

Alkonect may investigate suspected fraud and take appropriate action.

33. OFF-PLATFORM TRANSACTIONS

Sellers must not use Alkonect to obtain Buyers and then intentionally move transactions outside the Platform for the purpose of avoiding legitimate Alkonect fees, controls, protections, or transaction records.

Examples include directing Buyers to:

  • personal payment accounts;
  • unrelated websites;
  • private payment channels;
  • personal messaging accounts; or
  • other transaction methods

where the purpose is to circumvent Alkonect marketplace requirements.

This restriction does not prevent legitimate communication or lawful activities unrelated to fee or policy circumvention.

34. COUNTERFEIT AND INFRINGING PRODUCTS

Alkonect takes counterfeit and intellectual-property infringement seriously.

If a Seller is found to have listed or sold counterfeit or infringing Products, Alkonect may:

  • remove the listing;
  • cancel affected Orders;
  • suspend the Seller;
  • withhold funds where legally permitted;
  • require evidence of authenticity;
  • terminate the Seller account; or
  • cooperate with rights holders, regulators, law enforcement, or other relevant authorities.

Repeated or serious violations may result in permanent removal from the marketplace.

Sellers must not knowingly sell Products that are:

  • unsafe;
  • recalled;
  • illegally modified;
  • falsely labelled;

If a Seller becomes aware of a safety issue involving a Product sold through Alkonect, the Seller must promptly notify Alkonect and take appropriate corrective action.

  • complaints;
  • shipping;
  • tax information; and
  • other legally required records.

Alkonect may request relevant documentation when investigating complaints, fraud, authenticity, safety, or compliance issues.

38. SELLER AUDITS AND INVESTIGATIONS

Alkonect may conduct reasonable reviews of Seller activity.

This may include reviewing:

  • Product listings;
  • Orders;
  • customer complaints;
  • transaction history;
  • documents;
  • communications;
  • return activity;
  • fulfilment performance;
  • authenticity evidence; and
  • other relevant information.

Sellers must cooperate reasonably with legitimate investigations.

39. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION

Alkonect may temporarily suspend a Seller account where reasonably necessary because of:

  • suspected fraud;
  • serious customer complaints;
  • counterfeit Products;
  • prohibited Products;
  • security concerns;
  • policy violations;
  • regulatory requirements;
  • payment disputes;
  • repeated fulfilment failures; or
  • other significant risks.

Where appropriate, Alkonect may provide the Seller with an opportunity to respond.

  • intellectual-property infringement;
  • repeated failure to fulfil Orders;

Termination does not eliminate obligations that arose before termination.

41. SELLER APPEALS

A Seller may request review of certain enforcement actions by contacting:

support@alkonect.com

The Seller should provide:

  • account information;
  • relevant Order numbers;
  • explanation of the issue;
  • supporting evidence; and
  • requested remedy.

Alkonect may review the matter and determine whether the original action should be maintained, modified, or reversed.

Nothing in this appeals process limits rights available under applicable law.

42. SELLER INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sellers may be responsible for claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • their Products;

  • infringement of third-party rights;
  • fraudulent conduct;
  • inaccurate listings;
  • misuse of Buyer information;
  • violation of this Policy; or
  • failure to fulfil Seller obligations.

This provision does not require a Seller to indemnify Alkonect where such an obligation would be prohibited by applicable law.

43. ALKONECT'S ROLE

Alkonect provides the technology and marketplace infrastructure through which Sellers can offer Products to Buyers.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Alkonect does not:

  • manufacture Seller Products;
  • own every Product listed on the marketplace;
